Not every home has a gas line. Not every installation allows for venting. And not every situation calls for a full tankless system. Electric water heaters cover all three scenarios — from a small under-sink unit that plugs into a standard outlet, to a whole-home tankless system that replaces a traditional tank entirely.

There are two distinct types in this category, and the right choice depends on your situation:
